Amitonte
Your Friendly Grazers
What We Do
Amitonte is an ecological land-management initiative operating across Greater Montréal that uses targeted grazing to address invasive, toxic, and hard-to-reach plant species such as phragmites, buckthorn, poison ivy, and ragweed. In partnership with local farmers, we bring grazing animals—including goats, sheep, alpacas, and even bunnies—to sites where conventional mechanical or chemical methods are impractical. By working at the intersection of agriculture, ecology, and communities, Amitonte offers a practical, low-impact approach to vegetation management that supports healthier ecosystems and more resilient green spaces.

The Amitonte Mission
We bring communities and nature together through sustainable land management practices. By using animals as natural lawnmowers, we reduce noise, air, soil and water pollution as well as carbon emissions while promoting greener, healthier spaces. Our goal is to create a sense of harmony between people and their environment, fostering sustainability in urban and suburban areas.
